This is the story behind the name.
During the conception of this digital hub, I asked previous client to describe what I do in a nut shell. She lovingly described the work that I do by holding her hands together and spreading her fingers wide. I immediately saw a web; an image of a gold- threaded web connecting our beginnings and all the pieces in-between together.
I walk with women as they untangle, reshape and weave their way to wholeness.
They are the real weavers.
Each woman creating her own stunning tapestry coloured by her reclamation, the sweat on her brow as she births her baby into her own hands, her web fortified by her total emancipation and healing after decades of being told she would be ill indefinitely, her choices, her deaths, her undoing, her re-birth, her discoveries and finally, her self-actualization as the woman she chooses to be.
Welcome to this space, I am so glad you’re here.

I came into Women’s work in 2013 beginning with facilitating women’s circles. It was a natural step, on my path as a Yoga teacher and an opening to also weave in healing modalities that I had come to learn during my 5 visits to India of Ayurveda and plant medicine.
Holding space for women in this way mended disjointed pieces of my own womanhood and lit a fire within me. It was in these circles that women began to ask that I support them with their painful periods, in their pregnancies and be present as they birthed their babies. The call came and I answered.
After 5 years as a doula in the medical system, it became very clear to me that the birth culture (*especially in rural communities) does not serve the best interest of women and their family. Rather than continuing to perpetuate the abusive culture and harmful power dynamics of the industrial medical model, I decided to revolutionize my understanding of birth and reclaim my roll in it as an authentic, unregulated birth attendant/ aka“midwife.”
The birth of my daughter carried me through the powerful pathway of embodying that which I’ve studied and what I deeply believe in: That birth is inherently safe, that a physiological (undisturbed, home birth setting) birth is the key to safety, that women are capable of miracles, and that sovereign birth has the power to heal our planet.
I source my teachings from a place of rigours study and as well as lived + living experience. I’ve walked the path of womb- healing and am committed to daily practices that resource my efforts in serving my community.
I respectfully acknowledge that I live, work and play in Treaty 6 and 8; The traditional territories of the Beaver, Cree, Ojibway, Shuswap, Stoney, and Metis Nations. It is my deep honour to serve the community here and a joy to tend the land with my husband, daughter and growing family.
